This Saturday, Chloe Sutton, Janet Evans, Rowdy Gaines, Jason Lezak, Aaron Peirsol, Brian Goodell and Kaitlin Sandeno will appear at the Just Add Swim event in Palm Desert California. The Just Add Swim event aims to help kids feel like champions both in and out of the water. Towards this goal, Just Add Swim brings Olympic swimmers to teach water basics and safety to kids of all abilities. The Just Add Swim event will be held at the Family YMCA of the Desert, at the Palm Desert Aquatic Center at 73-751 Magnesia Falls Drive, Palm Desert, California.
The event is sponsored by the Swim to Win Foundation. According to Stephen Little, founder of Swim to Win Foundation, children “can interact with the Olympians on the level of ‘Look at what I did unique to make it.... We’re trying to give them the love of a sport, the love of fitness, the love of swimming, the love of the freedom to be physically fit,” said Little. Two-time Olympian Chloe Sutton describes working at Just Add Swim as “a completely different level of rewarding.” She explains “I get to introduce kids to the water for the first time. They're learning a life skill and experiencing a whole new world. It's an amazing feeling to take a child who has never been in a pool for the first time and see them go from terrified to having a ton of fun.”
