A: Vitamin C. Yes, it's that simple. We found that many people want to minimize the things that they put on their body. Accordingly, SwimSpray is 100% natural with only a couple ingredients: water and several forms of vitamin C. Compare that ingredient list with your other products!
Q: How do I use SwimSpray?
A: There are three easy steps to eliminate chlorine from your hair and skin with SwimSpray's vitamin C technology: after swimming, rinse off in the shower. Next, spray SwimSpray for 5-10 seconds to cover your hair and skin. Then, shower normally. If you wish, you can use the lather from your favorite shampoo, soap, or body wash to spread SwimSpray over your body. See the video below for a demonstration:
Q: Who can use SwimSpray?
A: Anyone who doesn't want to smell like chlorine and dislikes the way chlorine irritates their skin or discolors their hair. SwimSpray was designed for the competitive athlete as well as the occasional swimmer. SwimSpray can be used several times a day for those athletes who have morning and evening practice.
Q: Can I use SwimSpray on my kids?
A: Yes. Just treat SwimSpray like you would any soap or shampoo, avoiding the eyes. We recommend using SwimSpray on children over the age of 6 months.
Q: Can I use SwimSpray with my regular shampoo or soap?
A: Yes. SwimSpray is designed specifically for you to use with your favorite shampoo and shower products. SwimSpray is fragrance free, so that you can use it with whatever products that you like.
Q: How long should I leave SwimSpray on my body or hair before rinsing?
A: Just a few seconds. SwimSpray immediately neutralizes chlorine. If you don't want to use shampoo or soap with SwimSpray, simply rinse off in the shower, spray SwimSpray on your hair and skin, and then rinse off the SwimSpray with water. That will eliminate the chlorine and you won't smell like chlorine.
Q: What is the shelf life of SwimSpray?
A: SwimSpray is packaged in an air-free environment, which enhances its shelf-life and stability. SwimSpray is very concentrated and is effective for at least two years without any decrease in performance.
Q: How many swims will a 6 oz bottle of SwimSpray last me?
A: SwimSpray is very powerful and we suggest that you apply enough SwimSpray to cover your hair and skin during each use. Each 6 oz. bottle can last up to 45 swims depending on how much you use each time. For example, if you have longer hair, you may use more product each use than someone who has shorter hair.
Q: Do I need to shake the bottle of SwimSpray?
A: SwimSpray uses a new, innovative aerosol technology that does not require shaking. Shaking the bottle has no affect on the spraying power or the amount of "charge" in the bottle. This is only necessary on traditional aerosol bottles. If you are having problems with spraying your bottle of SwimSpray, please refer to the Troubleshooting section below.
Q: Is SwimSpray tested on animals?
A: No. SwimSpray is not tested on animals.
Q: Is SwimSpray environmentally friendly?
A: Yes. While SwimSpray is considered an aerosol, we are environmentally friendly. We do not use any chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs). In fact, we use compressed air and only dispense 100% pure product, rather than a mix of propellant and product like most traditional aerosols.
Q: Where can I get SwimSpray?
Q: How much is shipping?
A: Shipping is $5.99 for all domestic orders, regardless of how many bottles of SwimSpray you purchase.
Q: What carrier(s) do you use for shipping SwimSpray?
A: SwimSpray currently uses FedEx for most shipments. We generally ship our orders on the same or next business day of receiving your purchase confirmation.
Q: What is your return policy?
A: We want our customers to be 100% happy with their purchase. If you are unsatisfied for any reason, SwimSpray will refund the full amount of your purchase. Just let us know what we can do better next time.
A: It's pretty simple - we don't share your information with anyone outside of SwimSpray.
Q: Sometimes SwimSpray tingles my skin. Why is that?
A: If your skin is already damaged or irritated, SwimSpray may cause your skin to tingle. Our customers report that the tingling feeling goes away with prolonged use, because SwimSpray makes your skin less irritated with continued use. One customer reports:
"I had some issues with skin irritation/stinging, but that was only in areas where the skin was already really dry. But after continual use, those areas resolved since the chlorine wasn't drying it out post-swim, and it is no longer irritating" - Andy S.
Q: What should I do if I accidentally swallow SwimSpray?
A: Relax. Because SwimSpray's active ingredient is Vitamin C, getting a little in your mouth won't harm you. Arguably swallowing a little SwimSpray gives your body it's daily dose of vitamin C! However, it will taste sour. We do recommend avoiding contact with eyes. It may sting your eyes. If contact with eyes occurs, simply rinse eyes with water ASAP. You will be fine.
Q: What should I do if my bottle is clogged or won't spray properly?
A: Sometimes, particularly after a long period without use, some of the liquid product can solidify in the nozzle or actuator portion of the bottle. You should be able to dislodge this blockage by running the sprayer portion of the bottle under running water or leaving the sprayer end of the bottle in water for several minutes. If you are still experiencing problems, please contact SwimSpray customer service.
Q: Why does my SwimSpray turn brownish-yellow after a while?
A: SwimSpray is made with all natural vitamin C. We do not add preservatives. As a result, your SwimSpray will react with the oxygen in the air, just like apples, avocados, orange juice, and other fresh foods. It may turn brown or yellow over time. Here, we make sure to include plenty of vitamin C, so that even the small amount of degradation that causes the amber/brown color does not lessen SwimSpray's effectiveness.
Q: Can I use SwimSpray to eliminate chlorine from my swimsuit?
A: Yes. SwimSpray will neutralize chlorine from your swimsuit. We've noticed that neutralizing the chlorine prolongs the life of your swimsuit by reducing the negative effects of chlorine. Your suit will not degrade as quickly and its color won't fade as fast. Simply rinse your swimsuit in non-chlorinated water, then spray SwimSpray on your suit. Then, rinse out your swimsuit again. For swimmers who leave their suit on during showering, you can wash your suit while you're washing your body.
Q: Can I make my own chlorine removal spray?
A: There are many websites that propose a do-it-yourself (DIY) version of SwimSpray. However, these DIY versions will not provide the same benefits as our patented technology (U.S. Patent No. 9,301,909; other worldwide patents granted and applications pending). SwimSpray is the product of many years of research, development, testing, and evaluation. Our product is more stable than DIY solutions and is also pH-balanced to be safe and mild for your hair and skin.
